The Concert

Paintings of Song is an idea born of the desire to paint images with music. This seventy-minute program experiments with intermixing poetry readings and chamber music, using the unique expressiveness of each to enhance the other. The concert title illustrates this mixing of mediums: the concrete imagery of poetry and the emotional color of music fusing into a scene as vivid as any painting.

In this manner, we experience the concert as a series of paintings of a journey, each scene expressing a particular mood or insight. Come join us for this journey well worth taking!

Composing Music

Composing music is a way of life. And a difficult way of life--by its very nature the music is not complete until you hear and respond to it. In this manner, each and every person becomes the music's most important critic.

In the end, I hope you experience my music, instead of simply hear it. When this happens I (and the wonderful musicians I work with) will have done our jobs!
